Hoosier Sweetheart

  •

Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Hoosier Sweetheart was first introduced to the Indiana University campus in the spring of 2008.  This year will be the third year for the event which will be taking place on March 5, 2010.  The IU Auditorium will host the event again this year as we are looking to have an even larger crowd than last year.

Hoosier Sweetheart is a unique event because its IU’s only all Greek female talent show. But Hoosier Sweetheart is more than just a talent show.  The talent competition is only one night, but the girls and gentlemen of Sigma Phi Epsilon work in the months leading up to the show to raise money, and promote the event all over campus.

It is through all of this work that we are able to donate to YouthAIDS.  YouthAIDS is an organization that works to fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS and to bring awareness to the cause by using uses pop culture icons to spread its message.

This year we are proud to say that two of our past competitors will be helping out to make this show great.  Last year’s winner, Katie Mitzell, will be coming back to pass along the crown to the 2010 Hoosier Sweetheart.  Along with Katie, last year’s Miss Spirit, Kiersten Thoma, will be contributing in several ways.  She is choregraphing the coaches & contestants dance which is sure to get plenty of laughs and is also working alongside a SigEp as an emcee.

To help support this cause, we are selling t-shirts and tickets to the event as well as accepting any donations.  For more information about this event and how you can help, please contact Tyler Crow at tycrow@umail.iu.edu.  Thanks for all of your support.
