The Return of Sigma Phi Epsilon in the Little 500
After being away from the race for a few years, SigEp returned to the Little 500 in 2007. The first two years consisted of rookie filled teams and thus resulted in poor results. The 2007 and 2008 finishes were 27th and 30th respectively. The race in 2009 proved that the SigEp cycling program is moving in the right direction for the future. For the first time since being back, we finally had veteran riders in the race and it showed in our performance finishing 17th even after getting involved in multiple wrecks. We have made lots of improvement in 2010 and look to have a strong finish in the race this year. The team is looking to carry on the tradition built by the SigEp teams before us. We are honored to be representing a fraternity that has proven successful competing in the Little 500. This spring we will be making the first trip to Florida since being back on campus. We thank everyone who else helped us get this far and hope that past riders and other alumni see how far we have come and our plans for the future. SigEp is on the rise and we hope everyone past and present can be a part of the Little 500 program we are building.
